The ecuador in Ecuador!
We woke up this morning to the first rain we’ve seen! It rains a lot here but we’ve had mostly sunny skies. Looking out the window this morning we were literally in the clouds!

After grabbing breakfast, we set out to find a bus to the equator! There is a tourist attraction that many people go to but it’s not actually on the equator. Maddie had been to a different spot that is exactly on the equator and is a cool place with lots of explanation. So we took an Uber north and then navigated through a busy bus terminal to find the bus north. We definitely tested Auguste on this one! But we found the bus and headed about an hour or so up through the mountains.

It was a comfy ride through gorgeous mountains and stops in little towns. We got dropped off on the side of the road right at our destination- the Quitsado Solar Clock! It was very cool! Although ecuador translates to equator, here it is called la mitad del mundo. The middle of the world.

Since it was so cloudy we couldn’t actually see the solar clock. But we walked the equator! It was a very cool place. They also had a little agave garden walk.
